Arrest made in murder of 59-year-old Three Rivers resident

THREE RIVERS, Mich. -- A 21-year-old Three Rivers resident has been arrested on preliminary charges of murder in the death of a 59-year-old, according to Three Rivers Police.

On Thursday, police were dispatched to the 300 block of Middle Street for a possible homicide.

When they arrived, they found the body of a 59-year-old.

The St. Joseph County Major Crimes Task Force was activated to investigate the death.

A 21 year old Three Rivers resident was identified as a suspect and was taken into custody.

Investigators are seeking Open Murder charges against the suspect.

The name of the suspect is being withheld pending arraignment.

The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

An autopsy will be conducted in Kalamazoo.
