Beacon invests $23M in new Three Rivers Health building following March tornado damage
THREE RIVERS, Mich. -- Beacon Health System is investing $23 million in a new medical office building at Three Rivers Health after a March tornado tore through the community and caused extensive damage to three buildings on the campus.
Beacon officials say the new 27,000-square-foot building will replace the three damaged buildings and create a centralized location for outpatient services.
The Schimnoski Building, the Center for Wound Healing, and the ProMed building were damaged and will be demolished at the end of August.
The new building is set to house a Rural Health Clinic with family medicine, internal medicine, and obstetrics and gynecology services. It will also include hematology/oncology, an infusion center, and a wound care clinic with a hyperbaric chamber.
Patients are expected to be welcomed into the new building by spring 2027.
“While no one would have chosen the circumstances that brought us to this point, this new medical office building is truly a silver lining to the storm,” said Maria Behr, President of Three Rivers Health. “This is a generational opportunity for our community. We are creating a beautiful, modern space where patients can receive care and where our physicians, providers and associates can deliver that care in an environment designed to support them. I am incredibly excited to help bring this vision to life.”
