BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - Lori Jarvis crashed into a garage while heading north on M-63 in Hagar Township Thursday morning. Her death leaves not only her family and friends to grieve, but also the community.
Today, State Senator John Proos spoke with me about her active role in the area. “The fact that she passed away is not only a big hole not only in our governmental operations, but certainly a big hole in all of our communities,” he said.
Lori also made a major effort to better her service. She worked as the Register of Deeds since 2001. While working in her position, she moved everything to an online resource instead of just paper. She was even named register of the year in 2016.
“She’s been reelected again with overwhelming majorities, and again and again because of the good work she’s done to represent the people of southwest Michigan,” said Proos.
Alcohol and speed are not said to be a factor.
