Bonus approved for Benton Harbor Area Schools teachers

BENTON HARBOR, Mich. -- The Benton Harbor Area Schools’ Board of Education approved a $1,000 retention bonus for teachers that receive a favorable review for this school year.
As a way for the school district to retain teachers that are performing well, teachers that receive an “effective” or a “highly effective” rating in their 2021-2022 school year review will receive the bonus.
The school district has had issues in recent years with hiring and keeping qualified and quality teachers.
