Brain Kelly: Navy "difficult to prepare for"

On Saturday, the Fighting Irish will take on the Navy Midshipmen at FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland on Saturday.

Coach Brian Kelly held a press conference Tuesday to preview the game.

Service academy football teams are often written off, but when Kelly addressed the media, he said that because Navy runs the option, they can be a big defensive headache.

According to Kelly, the Irish will have to change their routine if they want to win.

“I can tell you amongst the coaches throughout the country, if you were just polling coaches, they would tell you nobody wants to play Navy. This is a team that is so difficult to prepare for. When you are in your routine and you know you are doing things, then you got to go outside your routine and change so many things. It is a difficult opponent play.”

The Fighting Irish and Navy will kick off Saturday's game at 8pm.
