The weekend starts on a calm note, though a very active, potentially severe, next couple of days are ahead for Michiana. Highs today just below average, in the low 40s, with significantly less of a breeze than Friday, genuinely calm winds. All the calm before the storm, as they say, with the wind picking up in front of some potentially severe weather Sunday overnight. Highs on Sunday make a run to the 70s under mostly cloudy skies, with windy conditions, gusts up to 50 mph.
A severe weather threat picks up in the evening hours, with the potential for some stronger storms from 7pm - 1am. The biggest threat Michiana is facing is the gusty conditions, through a tornado chance cannot be ruled out. A monster cold front sweep through Michiana, dropping our temperatures into the low 30s, and bringing us face to face again with winter, as over 3 inches of snow in some areas is likely. Snow chances through Monday and into Tuesday morning, another lighter round Wednesday morning. Temperatures return to above normal in the middle of the week with low precipitation chances.
