SOUTH BEND, Ind.—A vehicle crashed into a home following a short police pursuit early Monday morning.
South Bend Police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the driver around 1:45 a.m.
The officer said the driver was speeding and disregarded a stop sign at LaPorte and Colfax.
A pursuit began, but the officer called it off because of speed at Walnut and Washington, reports said.
When the officer approached the 400 block of Walnut Street, he saw the vehicle had crashed into a home.
The driver, a 15-year-old male, was taken to the hospital for his injuries.
He will be taken to the Juvenile Justice Center when discharged.
Officers later learned the juvenile ran because he didn't want to get in trouble for driving the vehicle, report said.
