MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The Chicory Cafe hosted a drive-thru on Tuesday to serve corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day.
ABC57 spoke with Jeff Morauski, co-owner of Chicory Cafe, who said the dish isn't one people typically attempt themselves; this type of event helps connect them with the community.
"We started all this during covid with the drive throughs as a way, you know, people weren't coming in the restaurants, and then when we opened back up, very few are coming back in the restaurants, as everybody was a little hesitant as they should have been. So, we started doing this drive through family meals or individual meals as a way to get a great meal to guests that were convenient, just like a normal drive through, but with, you know, restaurant quality food," said Morauski.
Taphouse on the Edge also will be serving corned beef and cabbage the rest of the day Tuesday.
