Child car seat recommendations changing in 2014

Some car seat recommendations are changing starting the 1st of the year.

The new recommendation states the "latch system' should not be used when your child gets bigger than 65-pounds.

A 2001 law recommends all children up to 65 pounds sit in boosters or car seats but now car manufacturers say they cannot guarantee the strength of the car seat anchor when the weight of the car seat is added in.

Bottom line, if your child and the car seat weigh more than 65 pounds together, they should use a seatbelt.
