Colfax Avenue in South Bend to be restricted to single lane traffic

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The City of South Bend Department of Public Works announced a traffic alert for Colfax Avenue involving lane restrictions for both directions of the road.

The lane restrictions will go into effect on Tuesday and it will be from Niles Avenue to Sycamore Street.

The restrictions are due to utility work for Indiana Michigan Power.

Work will also be done on Niles Avenue, but the road will remain open – although no street parking will be allowed.

Also, starting Wednesday, September 4, Colfax Avenue from Niles Avenue to Hill Street (the opposite direction from Sycamore Street) will be closed for the installation of a water main.

Detour routes will be Niles Avenue and Eddy Street via Jefferson Boulevard.

Lane restrictions and closures will end on September 6.
