ELKHART, Ind. -- Runners in Elkhart laced up their shoes on Saturday and hit the streets of downtown for a good cause.
The annual Color For Kids Fun Run and Walk event got underway at 9 a.m. Saturday, with all proceeds from the event benefiting programs with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Elkhart County.
While serious runners were more than welcome to participate, the run was truly a family event, with adults and children of all ages getting in on the fun and getting colorful along the way.
Stationed throughout the 5K course were various different coloring stations where colored corn starch was thrown into the air on top of runners.
The course started at Central Park and went along the riverwalk, looping back around into the downtown area, a part of which was sectioned off for the event.
More information on the fun run and how it benefits the Boys and Girls Clubs can be found here.
