Community to hold vigil for Trey Martinez on Thursday
SOUTH BEND, Ind. --- Community members will hold a vigil to remember 27-year-old Trey Martinez on Thursday evening at 5:30 p.m.
In the early morning hours of September 29, South Bend Police were called to Marine Street for a man down in the street.
Officers and medics arrived at the scene and found Martinez deceased.
Jason Collins and Diane Schubert were arrested in connection to this case.
Martinez was at a home on Marine Street with two other people during the early morning hours of September 29th, according to court documents.
Collins reportedly told police he pulled a folding knife from his pocket and stabbed Martinez in the neck.
Martinez then left the house, according to court documents.
After Martinez left, Collins and Schubert showered, washed their clothes and told two juveniles in the home to clean up the blood that was left behind while he and the woman went for a walk, got coffee and went to a resident's house where police later found them, according to court documents.
'On Site Prayer Ministry' will hold a vigil for Martinez at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at the corner of Marine and Haney.
