Coroner confirms Indy bus driver suffered heart attack

MARION COUNTY, Ind. -- The driver in a fatal school bus crashed suffered a heart before striking a bridge abutment.
According to the Marion County Coroner's Office, Thomas Spencer II, 50, suffered a heart attack that led to the crash in the 900 block of South Emerson Avenue on March 12. Spencer died of multiple blunt-force trauma injuries.
Also killed in the crash was Lighthouse Charter School kindergartner Donasty Smith. Ten other students were hospitalized.
