Driver killed going wrong way on I-80 early Friday morning

LAKE COUNTY, Ind. -- A driver going the wrong-way on I-80 in Lake County died Friday morning after he crashed head on with a semi-truck.

The crash happened mile marker 12 around 1:30 a.m.

Troopers say 35-year-old Timothy Leib of Hobart was for some reason going westbound on the eastbound lanes.

The semi driver who was not injured tried to swerve in time but was not able to miss the truck.

Troopers say alcohol may have played a factor.
