Elkhart Police issue warning about counterfeit cash

ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Police Department wants to alert residents and businesses they have seen an increase in counterfeit cash in the area over the last month.

The department has taken 10 reports of counterfeit cash in the last 30 days.

When accepting cash, check for security strips, water marks, color-shifting ink and micro printing.
