CLAY TOWNSHIP, Ind.-- On Tuesday, It was reported about concerns of a man thought to be posing as a federal agent knocking on a door in Clay Township.
An FBI spokesperson confirms the man in the video showed above is in face a federal agent.
In the video, the homeowner believed the agent flashed false identification.
That was one of the reasons she reached out to St. Joseph County Police.
FBI officials tell ABC 57 news that man is a new legitimate federal agent.
That spokesperson says FBI agents do not show badges, they show their credentials, which is what he did in that footage.
That homeowner who reached out to ABC 57 news originally believed he introduced himself as a sergeant, but instead he said agent.
The FBI says the woman did the right thing by contacting local authorities.
