FLUSHING, Mich. -- The man known as "The Flag Man" is finishing a journey that has been more than 30 years in the making.
Michael Bowen served in the army during Vietnam but was stationed in Germany.
In 1982, he started running one mile for every name on the Vietnam War Memorial Wall.
Now he is nearing his goal with less than 20 miles to go.
"I'll probably just keep running with the flag, it's a good way to go," said Bowen.
Bowen plans on finishing that final mile in D.C. at the wall memorial on Friday.
