Former Elkhart County captain pleads guilty to false informing

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - A former captain with the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office pleaded guilty to one count of false informing in connection with an investigation into process servers who were paid for work they allegedly didn't perform.

James Bradberry accepted a plea agreement and pleaded guilty to one count of false informing.

Two other counts of false informing were dismissed.

Bradberry was sentenced to one year with the year suspended, 30 hours of community service and must pay a $100 fine in addition to court costs.

In court, Bradberry acknowledged he left out information in statements related to the investigation into the process servers.

Bradberry was charged in the case in March 2019.
