Former Saint Mary's professor passes away

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Clayton Henderson, a beloved musician and longtime professor at Saint Mary’s College, died January 7th.

According to the college’s website, Henderson taught at Saint Mary’s for 25 years serving many roles in that time, including Department of Music Chairman and Department of Communication Chairman, as well as Dance and Theatre.

Henderson retired in 2005 but kept his reputation as a fantastic jazz musician and pianist.

According to Saint Mary's Henderson had suffered from Parkinson's disease for some time. 

Those who knew him and his family are welcome to visit at the St. James Episcopal Cathedral from 2-4 p.m. this coming Saturday. Services start at 4 p.m. at the church.
