Gas thief causes massive explosion at a gas station in Florida

MIAMI, Fla. --- A gas thief in Florida caused a massive explosion at a gas station Friday.

The thief was using a 150 gallon pumping system hidden in a minivan.

Thieves that steal gas in this way typically park right over the underground tanks and drop a line down into the tank through a hidden trap door in their vehicle.

Thieves steal 89 million dollars in gas every year, either by driving off without paying or siphoning.
