Goshen opens new housing for former foster youth and supportive living

Lacasa Incorporated

GOSHEN, Ind. -- Lacasa, Inc. invites the community to celebrate the Ribbon Cutting and open house for the new Lakeview Drive Apartments on Wednesday, December 3, from 3:30 P.M. to 5:30 P.M. at 111 Lakeview Drive.

The Ribbon Cutting and remarks will begin at approximately 3:40P.M., followed by tours of the first two completed buildings.

The Lakeview Drive Apartments represent a major step forward in expanding affordable and supportive housing options in the Goshen community. The development has been made possible through funding from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA), the City of Goshen, Oaklawn, Bashor Children's Home, Community Foundation of Elkhart County, and NeighborWorks America.

Lacasa is developing Lakeview Drive Apartments with services provided by Oaklawn and Bashor Children’s Home to meet critical local housing needs.

The first building will provide permanent supportive housing for individuals who benefit from stable, long-term housing paired with access to supportive services through Oaklawn. The second building will offer safe, stable housing for youth transitioning out of the foster care system, supporting their journey toward independence. In addition to wraparound services provided by Bashor Children’s Home, new residents will receive essential home goods, such as bedding and kitchen items, generously donated by ReStore Church.

All buildings will be equipped with high-speed WIFI service provided by Surf Internet, ensuring residents have reliable access to online resources. This connectivity is essential for tasks such as job searching, continuing education, accessing healthcare information, and staying connected with support networks

“Every door we open at Lakeview Drive Apartments represents a new beginning, a chance for stability, dignity, and belonging. These homes are more than buildings; they are the foundation for brighter futures. When our community comes together, hope becomes something you can touch, see, and live in.” states Jeremy Stutsman, President & CEO, Lacasa, Inc.

Representatives from Lacasa, Goshen Chamber of Commerce, the City of Goshen, IHCDA, Oaklawn, and Bashor Children’s Home will share remarks during the event. Light refreshments will be served, and guests are invited to tour the first two completed buildings following the ceremony.
