ELKHART, Ind. -- The Eleventh Annual Great Cardboard Boat Race will take place on Friday to continue fundraising efforts for Crossroads United Way.

Area companies will race against one another in boats constructed from cardboard and duct tape to show their support for Crossroads United Way's fundraising efforts.

35 teams from local businesses and nonprofit organizations will compete and take sail on LaSalle Bristol’s pond, 601 CR 17 Elkhart.

The event is open to the public to enjoy along the pond’s shoreline.

This boat race has raised nearly $75,000 for Crossroads United Way over the past ten years.

The event begins at 11 a.m. with the boat race to start at 3 p.m.
