Hundreds come together to raise money for breast cancer

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – Hundreds came together, Wednesday afternoon, to raise money in the fight against breast cancer.

Wednesday marked the 10th Annual Secret Sisters Society Luncheon, on the campus of Notre Dame.

The event celebrates local cancer survivors, and raises money for United Health Services.

The money raised helps women who can’t afford a mammogram, get one.

Nicole Helman, who is a cancer survivor and was helped by the society said, “"Oh, absolutely, they actually helped me.  At the time I was uninsured so I really appreciate what they do for women."

Wednesday’s event also featured a fashion show, with local cancer survivors.

There were also remembrances of those who lost their lives to the disease.
