Starke County face-to-face with severe weather
Freezing roads are still a concern this morning, especially in rural areas or along low-lying roads where water has been ponding the last 12 hours. The more disruptive weather, however, is lake effect snow quickly ramping up into our southern Michigan counties for the entire first half of the day. Snow showers taper off in the early afternoon, leaving anywhere from a trace to two inches along and north of the IN/MI state line. Temperatures stay in the 20s for most of today and climb into the 40s tomorrow, melting any snow that stuck to the surface. The permacloud returns for most of the weekend as low pressure passes over, dropping highs into the 20s yet again on Sunday before a swift return to the 40s at the start of next week.
Today: Scattered snow showers. High 24.
Tonight: Partly cloudy. Low 20.
Saturday: Overcast. High 42.
Sunday: Partly cloudy. High 27.
