Incident at Notre Dame under investigation

An investigation is underway at the University of Notre Dame after a man was injured while working in Flaherty Hall.

University Spokesman Dennis Brown says the 54-year-old man suffered a puncture wound in the back around 9:24 a.m. Tuesday while working in Flaherty Hall.

Brown says the residence hall is under construction.

The man was taken to Memorial Hospital.

Brown says the incident is under investigation.

According to Brown, the incident is being investigated by NDSP as a possible assault.

IOSHA and the company the where the man is employed are investigating it as a possible workplace accident.
