SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Indiana's largest Christmas tree is now standing tall at the Inn at Saint Mary's in South Bend.
The 69-foot Norway Spruce is approximately 62 years old and weighs 10,000 pounds.
The tree was donated by a longtime South Bend resident who planted the tree at his home.
It is believed that, once the topper is added, the tree will stand just a little taller than the Rockefeller Center tree in New York City.
The official tree lighting ceremony will be held on December 1 at 6 p.m. at the Inn, located at the southwest corner of 933 and Douglas Road.
Those attending are asked to bring a donation for the Center for the Homeless. In return, guests will get a free coffee or tea from the INNjoy Café.
This is the third year Holiday Properties has set up the tree at the Inn.
