Inter-Urban Trolley makes some changes in Elkhart County

ELKHART, Ind.—Late Thursday afternoon, the mayor of Elkhart held a news conference to discuss changes with the Inter-Urban Trolley.

Concord Township stopped funding the service last year, but now a number of the other municipalities, including Elkhart, stepped up to increase their funding for the bus routes.

The cities involved have come up with a way to maintain and improve most services, especially for those who depend on the transportation.

Mayor Dick Moore said, “To the extent possible retaining service to the elderly complex community served”

The plan still needs to be formally approved and if all goes well, it will be in place in April.
