Kindergarten students visit Penn fire station

Thursday was kindergarten day at the Penn Station Fire Department

More than 100 kids from Elm Road School attended.

Firefighters took them on a tour of the station and taught them safety techniques ahead of the summer season.

They arrived a little before 9 and were treated to lunch by the fire crew.

"It's fun for us. With little kids you try to keep it simple, give them facts, and keep asking about those facts. Big part is we break it down to simple skill sets,” said Division Chief Al Kirsits.

This is the second year kids from Elm Road School have visited the fire station.
