Knox man arrested, charged with felony following multi-county police chase

LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The La Porte County Sheriff's Office reports one person was arrested following a Thursday morning pursuit along US 30.

Authorities say around 12:29 a.m., a deputy traveling west along US 30 when he noticed a vehicle traveling east at over 60 miles per hour, the posted speed limit.

The deputy noted the suspect vehicle was traveling at 110 miles per hour per his radar unit.

The deputy then turned around and began pursuing the vehicle, which passed C.R. 40 West, S.R. 39, and continued south on US 35.

The chase then continued west on C.R. 250 North, south on Range Road, and east on S.R. 8 where assisting units successfully deployed stop sticks.

The suspect vehicle eventually stopped in the 2300 north block of C.R. 325 East in Starke County.

The driver, identified as 22-year-old Logen B. Fletcher of Knox, was taken into custody and charged with Resisting Law Enforcement, a Level 6 Felony, and Reckless Driving, a Class C Misdemeanor.

Fletcher was taken to the La Porte County Jail but has since been released after a cash bond was posted on his behalf.
