Lake effect snow accrues along communities adjacent to or west of US-31 this morning. Most of these towns can expect a couple more inches by noon with the main lake band weakening and pushing east in the early afternoon. Temperatures barely get to double digits, sitting in the low teens during the second half of the day. Partly cloudy skies fill up the rest of tonight as lows drop to near zero. More light snow showers develop in the mid morning tomorrow ahead of a weak frontal boundary with lake effect snow forming behind the front in the second half of Tuesday. Accumulating snow is likely tomorrow, but totals are uncertain at this point through tomorrow night. Our break in the snow does not come until Thursday when a dry and frigid airmass gets pushed into Michiana. High temperatures stay in the teens all of this week, but the 20s could return this weekend.
