Indiana Department of Transportation LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. -- The Indiana Department of Transportation announced Tuesday that contractors will be resuming construction between I-94 and S.R. 2 on US 20 auxiliary left turn lanes on or after Monday, Mar. 9.
From Tuesday through Friday, trees will be cleared around US 20 between S.R. 39 and C.R. 250 E. As a result, lanes in the area will be intermittently closed.
Starting on or after Monday, Mar. 9, two sections of US 20 will be reduced to one lane in each direction, using westbound lanes while eastbound lanes are closed for construction. There will be dedicated left turn lanes at county road intersections, but none throughout the rest of the work zone. These sections are between I-94 and C.R. 400 W through end of April and between C.R. 250 E and C.R. 500 E through end of May.
Starting around mid-May, the section of US 20 between S.R. 39 and C.R. 250 E will be reduced to one lane in each direction as auxiliary lane construction resumes.
