Man injured in Elkhart County crash

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – One person was injured in a crash Wednesday morning on C.R. 38 and C.R. 19, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office reported.

At 7:46 a.m., deputies responded to the area of C.R. 38 and C.R. 19 for a crash.

A Ford Fusion was traveling north on C.R. 19, south of C.R. 38, when the driver failed to yield the right of way for a Ford Ecoline traveling west on C.R. 38, east of C.R. 19, reports said.

The Fusion’s front bumper hit the driver side door of the Ecoline, causing both vehicles to fall off the roadway and into a ditch, deputies said.

The driver of the Fusion refused medical treatment and the driver of the Ecoline was taken to a local hospital for a head injury and complaint of chest pain, reports said.
