CASS COUNTY, Mich. -- The Cass County Sheriff's Office reports deputies responded to residence in the 25000 block of Morton Street for a man with a gun threatening a family member around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Authorities say the suspect, identified as a 52-year-old man, threatened to burn down the home with the occupants inside.

Deputies arrived and arrested the suspect and ensured the victims were safe.

The report states deputies searched the home and located the firearm described by the victim.

The suspect faces charges of Felony Firearm, Domestic Violence, and Felonious Assault.

The suspect’s name is withheld pending arraignment on the charges in the 4th District Court.

The investigation remains ongoing.
