SOUTH BEND, Ind.—Mayor Pete Buttigieg discussed the resignation of Dr. Kenneth Spells as Superintendent of South Bend Community School Corporation on Tuesday.
Mayor Pete spoke about a meeting that will be held Wednesday to discuss the relationship between the community and the school corporation in light of Spells’ recent resignation.
“While the decision is ultimately up to the school board, making sure we have the right level of community input is key,” Mayor Pete said.
Spells recently announced that he will be stepping down from his position as superintendent at the end of the school year.
Mayor Pete also discussed an update on a potential South Shore Line train station in downtown South Bend.
