CASSOPOLIS, Mich. -- Midwest Energy and Communications (MEC) confirmed about 1,189 customers are out of power in Fabius, Jefferson, Porter, Calvin, and Ontwa townships.

Crews are continuing to make progress and clean up damage.

They have found about 40 broken poles so far.

The estimated restoration timeline is not yet available.

MEC urges everyone to stay 50 feet away from any downed or low-hanging power lines, as they may still be energized and dangerous.
