Memorial Skywalk makes real progress
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Memorial Skywalk project is making some real progress at Memorial Hospital.
We saw crews putting up glass plates on the remodeled sky bridge Thursday.
The walkway will connect Memorial Hospital with a medical office building across the street.
The makeover includes $800,000 of tinted glass.
Officials there say the temporary inconvenience for staff and patients will be worth the outcome.
"It’s been a little inconvenient but also Memorial has been committed to downtown South Bend and part of that commitment is beautification and make sure our campus is beautiful and efficient running as possible," said Diane Stover-Hopkins, chief marketing and experience officer.
The bridge is scheduled to be complete mid-March.
