MUSKEGON, Mich. – Students from the University of Michigan are helping clean up waste along the coast in Michigan.
Jackson Riegler, a student of the University of Michigan, organized the clean up to turn the waste into clothing.
Shirts will be made primarily of plastics found in water bottles or eating utensils.
“Been really awesome to see how we’ve transformed so far, and our future and how we can transform in a better way,” Riegler said.
Jackson says his company donates 15 percent of every purchase to nonprofits that preserve the Great Lakes, raising nearly two thousand dollars so far.
