Monday will mark the 20th anniversary of the day 12-year-old Steven Earl Kraft Jr disappeared from his Benton Township home, according to Benton Township Police.

The following day, on February 16, 2001, Kraft’s parents reported he was out walking his dogs between 7 and 8 p.m., but failed to return home for dinner.

Kraft was last seen in the 2100 block of Holly Street.

Despite ground searches and an air search at the time, he was not located.

Several days after his disappearance, his two dogs were found.

Despite receiving tips and information, Kraft is still listed as a missing person.
