Warsaw police responded to a motorcycle crash on July 20 after 7:30 p.m. in the 3100 block of N. Detroit Street where they found Hildabridle unconscious and Cloud covered in road rash, but conscious.
Hildabridle was in a ditch, with blood coming from her ears and mouth.
Life-saving measures were performed on Hildabridle until medics arrived to take her to a local hospital where she was then flown to one in Fort Wayne. Hildabridle was pronounced dead the next day.
Warsaw police spoke with Cloud and detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath.
EMS placed Cloud in an ambulance where an officer read Cloud the Indiana Implied Consent. Cloud then agreed to take a certified chemical test.
Cloud was then flown to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne where his blood was drawn. Two vials of blood were sent to Indiana State Department of Toxicology.
Cloud told police he and Hildabridle had left Lucky's Tavern in North Webster to drive to Warsaw.
Cloud said he was traveling south on S.R. 15 near C.R. 300 N and lost control of his Harley Davidson motorcycle when he drove over loose gravel. Cloud stated he let the motorcycle go, he landed on the road before walking over to Hildabridle in the ditch.
Cloud admitted he drank two alcoholic beverages at Lucky's.
Cloud sustained a broken left fibula and a broken left foot.
Police later learned Cloud had allegedly driven south on S.R. 15 near C.R. 350 N and into oncoming traffic.
A witness who was with Cloud that night stated he drove his motorcycle with Hildabridle as the passenger without his hands on the handlebars, rode too close to the center line, and attempted to high five oncoming traffic.
The witness stated as they approached the intersection of S.R. 15 and C.R. 350 N they observed Cloud's motorcycle flip multiple times. The witness didn't see any loose gravel around the intersection.
The Allen County Coroner's Report indicated Hildabridle died from blunt force trauma sustained in the crash.
On Aug. 15, police received the certified chemical test result back from the Indiana State Department of Toxicology which showed Cloud's BAC to be12 percent.
