New Buffalo police rescue driver from harbor after accident

NEW BUFFALO, Mich. – Police say they rescued a driver from the water on Friday night after they drove into the harbor.

At 7 p.m. the driver was heading down Marquette Drive and went off of the road when turning on Whittaker Street, reports say.

The driver was able to escape the vehicle, and was assisted to shore with no serious injuries.

The New Buffalo Police Department says that alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident but continues to investigate the incident.
