Notre Dame suspends all in-person classes for remainder of spring semester
NOTRE DAME, Ind.—The University of Notre Dame announced on Wednesday that all in-person classes are suspended for the remainder of the spring semester amid COVID-19 concerns.
The university says it is following the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines of avoiding gatherings with more than 50 people for the next eight weeks by suspending in-person classes.
Students will continue coursework digitally for the remainder of the spring semester.
In accordance with the recent announcement from the Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, all public masses at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart have been canceled.

Earlier in the day on Wednesday, the university said that while there are no confirmed cases of coronavirus on campus, a student who recently traveled home from a study abroad program in London has tested positive for the virus.
The student has self-quarantined at home, away from campus, since returning from London, the university said.
