'Nuns on the Bus' turn to Congressman Donnelly for help

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- 'Nuns on the Bus' rolled through downtown South Bend on Friday.

The group is on a 15-day tour through nine states, protesting proposed federal budget cuts and highlighting their work for the poor.

On Friday, their bus stopped in front of Congressman Joe Donnelly's office.

They want Donnelly, who is Catholic and against a bill they are criticizing, to be their spokesman.

"A mentor, and a person who has a wider understanding, and the commitment to spread the word, not to spread the politics of bipolar!" said Sister Diane Donoghue of the Sisters of Social Service.

The sister told us they are not sick of the bus yet, since they have been so busy spreading their message.
