Pokuta-Palooza raises money to help family of New Prairie High School student

NEW CARLISLE, Ind. -- Nearly 1,000 family and friends supported Lauren Pokuta Saturday night for Pokuta-Palooza.

The massive all day fundraiser raised money for the family of Lauren.

In August, Lauren, a student at New Prairie High School, was nearly killed in a car accident Aug.  2, 2010.

She currently is in a vegetative state at Memorial Hospital. Those close to the family say that Lauren is doing a little better with each day, but still has a long road of recovery ahead.
