Police name suspect in fatal shooting
SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- St. Joseph County Metro Homicide released the name of a man suspected of fatally shooting 19-year-old Cornell Taylor Tuesday evening.
Police say suspect Shyheem Jones knows he's wanted and should be considered armed and dangerous.
Police say Jones shot and killed Taylor at a park on Fremont Street.
Another young man, 20-year-old Brilan Williams, was also shot. He was taken to the hospital and then released.
Police say they have talked with Williams and hope to talk to him again, but he's not cooperating.
The shooting happened while they were shooting a music video - then an altercation broke out.
"It's disturbing that young kids are carrying hand guns and they're resolving their problems by shooting each other. That's the problem that we consistently see," said Lt. Dave Wells, Assistant Commander of the Metro Homicide Unit.
Police say they believe Jones was last a student at Riley High School.
Police are still investigating and interviewing everyone who was there Tuesday night.
