Reports of shots fired at northwest South Bend apartment

Police are investigating reports of shots fired near Beacon Heights apartments South Bend.
Police responded to the 3000 block of Putnam Plaza, on the city’s northwest side around 8:30 p.m. Monday night.
According to police, a young black male was seen by witnesses running through the apartment complex shooting a gun.
One man was seriously injured and listed in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
Residents at the apartment complex say they have seen their fair share of crime and shooting there and fear for their children's safety.
Police are still looking for a suspect.
