Semi tire crushes roof of vehicle driving on interstate

Indiana State Police responded to an unusual accident on I-80/94 Friday morning.

At approximately 6:16 a.m., a westbound driver was in the third lane of I-80/94 when he saw what appeared to be a semi truck tire bouncing in the westbound lanes.

The tire struck a Subaru Impreza driven by Andrew Bruce of Hobart.

Police said the tire crushed the passenger side windshield, roof and hood.

Bruce was not injured other than possible glass in his eye from when the windshield shattered.

The Subaru was towed from the scene.

Police were unable to locate the semi that lost the tire.
