'Shake Rattle and Roll Mother Son Dance' at Battel Community Center on Saturday

MISHAWAKA, Ind. - The Mishawaka Parks and Rec Department is hosting a 1950s diner inspired "Sock Hop" at the Battell Community Center on Saturday night.

Organizers invite residents to come enjoy an evening of dancing, light refreshments, a photobooth, music, and quality time with your son.

The event page states the dance is open to boys ages 4 to 12, escorted by an adult family member.

The dance is from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, at the Battell Community Center.

Tickets are $45 per couple and $10 per additional son. Tickets can be purchased here.

Organizers say there will be a free commemorative item for each attendee.

Organizers also included the following statement on the event page:

"We recognize that families come in many different forms. While these events are named after the traditional events held by community groups for many years, we welcome you to choose which event fits your family."
