Sheriff: Car ran off road, struck mailbox, then hit tree in Cass County

Photo courtesy of the Cass County Sheriff\'s Office CASS COUNTY, Mich.—A car ran off the road, struck a mailbox and then hit a tree on Thursday morning, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to Mason Street near Gordon Road on Thursday morning around 6:44 a.m. for a personal injury crash.
During their investigation, deputies learned that 44-year-old Jonathan Wagers of Edwardsburg was traveling eastbound when his vehicle ran off the road, struck a mailbox and then hit a tree.
Wagers was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Police do not know if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. It remains under investigation.
