Sheriff's office launches new app to communicate with public
KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind.--A brand new Kosciusko county cellphone app, is making it easy for the community to stay up to date and informed on what’s happening in the area, right from the palm of your own hand.
While there are still a few features still under construction, the app is overall user friendly, and allows the sheriff’s office to connect and communicate directly with the public.
The first step of course to get any app onto your mobile device is to download the app. You can do that by simply going to your app store on your cellphone, or for this case scenario, you can click on your camera button and let your camera do the rest. Once you pull up your camera on your cellphone, you can scan the barcode by pressing down on the image through your camera screen. This app is offered on both Android and Apple devices.
On the Kosciusko County Sherriff Office app, you are updated with both active and non-active events happening in that area, like a hazardous or emergency situation. You can check it out, but clicking the “notification history” tab.
Then, you have options to submit a tip and to contact the sheriff’s office. When you submit a tip, it will ask for your name, email, and phone number. This is all optional, so you can submit a tip anonymously. You will be asked to provide the tip, the date of the incident, add images if you have any, and submit. If you want to contact the office, you’ll be provided a breakdown of the numbers you can call for any question, concern or problem you may have.
There are also many other options available. You can get updates on news, submit a comment or concern about something, find inmate information, do inmate searches, learn more about each division, find information about sex offenders near you, learn about firearms licensing, and can even job search to see if there’s a position there for you to join the team.
The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s office covers 555-square miles and a population of nearly 100,000 in Northern Indiana. The office teamed up with thesheriffapp.com to provide an app for the community.
