NOW: South Bend meets Beantown As Notre Dame fans flood the streets

BOSTON, Mass.-- One of America’s most historic cities has turned green this weekend as Notre Dame fans flood into Boston ahead of Saturday’s matchup against Boston College.

The weather’s been classic New England — cool, windy, and gray — but that hasn’t stopped fans from exploring. Many stopped by The Dubliner, enjoying seafood chowder and plenty of Irish cheer before the big game.

Boston, known for its deep history and tradition, feels like the perfect fit for Notre Dame fans. Both share values of pride, legacy, and loyalty — and this weekend, that spirit is on full display.
The “Holy War” between Notre Dame and Boston College is a rivalry built on faith and competition. The teams first met in 1975 and have shared memorable moments ever since — from Boston College’s stunning upset in South Bend in 1993 to Notre Dame’s famous Green Jersey Game in 2002.
Notre Dame currently leads the all-time series 18–9, but Boston College has been known to pull off surprises, making every game a must-watch.

As kickoff nears, Boston is already buzzing — with Irish fans filling restaurants, streets, and landmarks, turning the city into South Bend East.

Stay tuned for more updates from Boston as the Irish look to keep the winning tradition alive.
